Was your Favorite Super Bowl Commercial The 30 Seconds Of Dead Air?

Of all the commercial breaks during the Super Bowl, the one generating a lot of buzz wasn't actually a commercial at all. TV screens went black for about 30 seconds after NBC cut to a commercial in the second quarter reports CBS. While many were trying to figure out the message or what the point was, NBC later tweeted an explanation: "We had a brief equipment failure that we quickly resolved. No game action or commercial time were missed." That's good because a 30-second ad during the game costs about $5 million. Twitter certainly had fun with it. Lots of comments like: "Best Super Bowl commercial so far has been "empty black screen."

Working in radio I can tell you, every second of dead air is a big deal, and it feels like a lifetime. Even if it's only been 3 seconds... But 30 seconds??? Dang....
