Duck Boat Tours Coming to Minneapolis Despite Controversy

Duck boat tours are coming to Minneapolis, despite safety concerns following the Missouri duck boat disaster. 

According to WCCO, the Lucky Duck Company is launching tours along the Mississippi River using new Hydra-Terra amphibious vehicles. The tours will go through downtown and northeast Minneapolis and run beginning next month through October. Tickets for adults cost $48. 

Seventeen lives were claimed in the recent duck boat accident in Missouri, including the lives of children, according to CNN. No one aboard was wearing a life jacket. According to KRCG-TV, duck boats don't have the safest track record. (Read more here.) 

Whether it's here in Minnesota or elsewhere, will you go on a duck boat ride? The smartest thing to do, in my opinion, is to wear a life jacket. I know they're bulky and ugly and uncomfortable, but they will protect your life.
