Music has always been a form of self-expression, but visual artist Dmitry Morozov is taking it to a whole new level. I mean seriously, a WHOLE. NEW. LEVEL. This is wild and a bit bizarre in my eyes, but super cool.

Morozov created the world's first music playing tattoo by inking himself with a bar code correlated to a variety of musical sounds. Using refurbished parts from a Wii console, he designed a device to scan and broadcast the barcode. By moving his body and manipulating the scanner, Morozov can vary the sounds or "music" his tattoo generates.

The tattoo is only one part of the artist's "Reading My Body" series. According to Morozov, the ultimate goal of his work is to assess “how will people add electronics to their bodies, starting from medical, health, and army purposes to art, sex and education.” A tattoo generally says something about the person who wears it. Perhaps with technology tattoos will now also be able to sing something as well.
