12-year-old Dawson Batts from Fayetteville, NC has his baseball career all planned out. First, he'll play baseball for North Carolina State and he'll get drafted by the Red Sox, hopefully following the footsteps of his idol Jim Abbott.
Dawson doesn't even stopped to consider how having one arm affects his baseball career.
According to MLB.com:
"Batts was born with only a right arm, but since he started whacking tee balls at the age of 3, it's never made him think twice about playing the game he loves. Instead, he's turned it into his greatest asset. He'll tell you that he can do more things with one arm than most kids his age can do with two. So far, he's absolutely right....
"His favorite player is Dustin Pedroia, because "he's the underdog," and it seems that with each new level of baseball he tries, Dawon continues to grow out of that own label.
We'll be interested to follow Dawson's journey through baseball and hope to see him a few years from now wowing more fans with his talent.
