French women always seem to look amazing in EVERYTHING! The rest of us try our best  to copy their looks, although we often seem to be just a little bit behind the style trends of the Parisians. It turns out all that effort might just be the problem!

A new survey suggests that French women pay less attention to trends, designers and celebrities when buying clothes. The research, which was done by Ifop for the French Federation of Women's Ready-to-Wear, found that 48% of the 1,003 women polled looked to ordinary people for inspiration. Only 1 in 10 of French women said they were influenced by TV or magazines.

On the other hand, the rest of us women tend to look for advice from fashion blogs and try to emulate the looks of the latest celebrity fashionista.

So, it turns out that the age old advice to "just be yourself" might actually be the best fashion advice too, because 51% of the survey takers said that being fashionable meant "being yourself." I guess its time for us all to put down the fashion magazines, stop searching through Pinterest and let's not worry about what our favorite celebrity is wearing!

Vogue Paris editor-in-chief, Emmanuelle Alt and her friends are some fashionistas many people look to for advice. When in reality, it's time for us ALL to follow our own fashionable hearts!

What do you think? Do you agree that French women are more fashionable?
