Here's The Snowfall Leaderboard For The Storm No One Expected

Really didn't matter to me that we got absolutely NO heads up that a massive bunch of snow was coming. It's great how they tell us to buckle down and stock the shelves and then we get 3 inches. This time, nothing from anyone and we got absolutely hammered in Otsego. Probably close to 8 inches.

Anyway, whatever, have to snow blow the driveway either way, right?

Here's the snowfall from the unexpected storm....

New Ulm got 10 inches of snow on Monday. It's safe to say that nobody predicted that much snow anywhere, much less any accumulating snow of more than 1-3 inches very far north of the Minnesota-Iowa border.
So what happened?
"The band of snow intensified and moved slower," the Twin Cities office of the National Weather Service (NWS Twin Cities) said in a tweet, later addingthat the enhanced snowfall event "is somewhat similar to severe weather in the warm season."
