I would like to mention this is a very on-the-surface general analysis. It goes more in depth in each state, and exceptions exist in some states. For example, Nevada's state minimum wage for tipped employees is not higher than the federal wage if the employee is covered by company health insurance. This map is based off of overall general rules.

It's worth noting that, in all states, employees must receive at least $7.25 per hour worked if tips don't cover, unless the state wage is higher.
