Priyanka Chopra explains why she made this controversial decision after marrying her now husband, Nick Jonas.
Priyanka was introduced by Jimmy Fallon on 'Tonight' as Priyanka Chopra Jonas on Tuesday. She says she's still getting used to hearing the "Jonas" part.
"Every time someone says that, my face goes a little like, 'Oh, that happened,'" she told Fallon (via USA TODAY ). "It's a big deal! I didn't realize it was that much of a big deal until I did it."
Keeping her maiden name was never in the cards, she explained, but she found a way to incorporate both surnames.
"I always wanted to add his last name to mine because I feel like we're becoming family," she said. "I don't take away my identity. He gets added to who I am."
Nick and Priyanka participated in a three-day Hindu wedding celebration in India in early December.
