Last Friday the Grammy nominations were announced by The Recording Academy in Los Angeles during a concert at the Nokia Theater. This year, the nomination list is packed with incredible talent, including nominations for some of our favorite artists and albums from this year.

Record of the Year nominees include "Royals" by Lorde and "Radioactive" by Imagine Dragons and Album of the Year nominees include "The Blessed Unrest" by Sara Bareilles and “The Heist” by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

Some of the female artists found on the list include Sara Bereilles, Lorde and Lana Del Rey. Sara Bereilles and Lorde were both not only featured for their individual record and album, but for singles as well. Sara was nominated for her song, “Brave” found on her album, “The Blessed Unrest” and Lorde for songs “Royals” and “Pure Heroine”. Lana Del Rey also graced the list with the nomination for her single, “Paradise”.

Some of our favorite male talents also found their way onto the list. Ed Sheeran earned the nomination of “Best New Artist” for this year and grassroots duo Macklemore and Ryan Lewis received a total of seven Grammy nominations including Album of the Year, Best New Artist and Song of the Year for “Same Love”. Male duo, Capital Cities, hit the list nominated for Best Music Video for their "Safe and Sound" single.

The list also included artists Neko Case, The National, Nine Inch Nails, Tame Impala and Vampire Weekend nominated in The Best Alternative Music Talent category. The 56th Grammy Awards will be held on January 26th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and with a crazy talented list like this, I don’t know how winners could even be decided.
