Locally grown talent shined in Time Magazine's "14 Musical Acts to Watch in 2014" list. In addition to Minneapolis rap/R&B singer, Lizzo, Cities 97 Sampler alumnus Jeremy Messersmith topped the list.

Messersmith was chosen from a pool of talent stretching across the world as an artist that "you need to hear." Though already widely loved around the Twin Cities, Time feels Messersmith is on the cusp of national fame. Cities 97 fans should recognize Jeremy's name from his song '7:02' which was featured on Cities 97 Sampler Volume 20.

In addition to the recognition, local Messersmith fans have much to be pleased about. The artist was recently signed to Glassnote Records, the same record label as Mumford & Sons, and has a new album, 'Heart Murmurs', scheduled for release in February. The first single from the record, 'Tourniquet', is available to stream now:

A release show will accompany the album and is scheduled for February 22nd at First Avenue. Tickets for the show will be available to general public starting Friday.
